Can I wear a dress with a velvet belt/bow on the waist to an early May wedding?

Details: I have a wedding to attend the first week of May. I wanted to wear this dressy brown dress/jumper which is somewhat two-tone and has black tulle material which shows out at the bottom. It's from Banana Republic. However, it has a black velvet belt to tie in a bow at the waist. Do you think I can wear it to an early May wedding? Thanks!
